| Writer's Block: Once Upon a Time |
[Feb. 26th, 2012|12:13 am] |
I think I've mentioned this in here before (maybe in a similar Writer's Block?), but my favorite fairytale is One-Eye, Two-Eyes and Three-Eyes.
I love the message, but most of all, I love that it reminds me of my maternal Great Grandmother. Her and I used to sit and read the Brothers Grimm, and that was one of her favorites to read to me. |

| October 2011 - September 2012 Booklist |
[Oct. 11th, 2011|07:41 pm] |
Hello Everyone! I was considering not doing a booklist this year, but realized that I do look back at it, and maybe some others do as well, so I decided to just keep it.
Last year I read 20,998 pages!!! HOLY CRAP, my goal was only 13,000 pages. But when I was working at the law firm, I was able to read A LOT. So that definitely upped the ante!
My goal this year is going to be, once again, 13,000 pages. With the wedding and everything coming up in the next year, I highly doubt I will touch close to 13,000, but I have high hopes. As always, I will be updating this post as the year goes on with the books I have read. I won't post re-reads, or magazines, or graphic novels. I received a Kindle this year, and any book I read on it will be marked with a "K" next to the page number (ex. 222K). The page count will be taken off of the amazon page, where it lists Print Length.
If you have any suggestions for books for me to read, leave them here!

| Wedding update: Photographer booked & Guest List Hell |
[Jul. 8th, 2011|08:55 pm] |
We booked our photographer yesterday!
We're using Albina Campos Photography.
We're not planning on doing our engagement pictures until late November/early December, because we want to do them as close to our 7 year (yep, we'll have been together 7 years this November 30th!) anniversary as possible. So don't be expecting to see those any time soon.
Joe and I are thinking about where we want to do those, as well as where we want to do our actual wedding photos. For engagement, we're either going to do Woodward Park or maybe go up to Shaver for a few hours. It would be SO PRETTY in November/December. For actual wedding pictures, we're still scouting areas, and so is our photographer, but we're considering going to Old Town Clovis, which could make for some very interesting, beautiful pictures.
She wants us to think about what poses and different things we want to do for pictures, and I have NO CLUE what to do. I'm going to really be looking at wedding pictures online, bridal magazines, and asking around for ideas. But I told her I want a lot of organic pictures- I love pictures that aren't too posey. Pretty much our whole wedding party is full of personality, so I want that to shine through.
We also finished the guest list, and it was every bit as hellish as most people have told me. I admit, I went a little crazy (okay, a lot crazy), but we're at 186 now and completely comfortable with the people we are, and aren't, inviting. We unfortunately cannot invite everyone, which sucks but it is what it is.
Now I need to start working on a time line for the day of, find a caterer, get a DJ, and a ton of other things. Thankfully, I still have a little over 10 months, and a lot of help! |
