No hard feelings. [Jun. 28th, 2013|06:39 pm]

This journal is now locked down. Only those I'm friends with online can read my posts from now on.

It's time to get back to my journal roots, and I can't do that unless it's just me and my computer.

October 2012 - September 2013 Booklist [Oct. 6th, 2012|01:48 pm]
Ashley
Booklist time! Last year my page count was 12,655. My goal was 13,000, which I didn't quite make, but I didn't read at all in January (at least not new books) so that might have changed things a little.

This year, I'm going for a goal of 13,000 pages again.

As always, I will be updating this post as the year goes on with the books I have read. I won't post re-reads, or magazines, or graphic novels.
I have a Kindle, and any book I read on it will be marked with a "K" next to the page number (ex. 222K). The page count will be taken off of the amazon page, where it lists Print Length.
Linked items are things I've reviewed on my beauty and book blog, Beauty and the Reads.

If you have any suggestions for books for me to read, leave them here!

Writer's Block: Once Upon a Time [Feb. 26th, 2012|12:13 am]

What is your favorite fairytale, and why?

I think I've mentioned this in here before (maybe in a similar Writer's Block?), but my favorite fairytale is One-Eye, Two-Eyes and Three-Eyes.

I love the message, but most of all, I love that it reminds me of my maternal Great Grandmother. Her and I used to sit and read the Brothers Grimm, and that was one of her favorites to read to me.

What is your favorite childhood fairytale?

One Eye, Two Eyes, Three Eyes is my favorite fairytale.

It has a lot to do with the fact that my Great Grandmother Rowland (her first name is Lora, she was my mom's mom's mom) read it to me all the time when I would come over to her house.

October 2011 - September 2012 Booklist [Oct. 11th, 2011|07:41 pm]
Ashley
Hello Everyone! I was considering not doing a booklist this year, but realized that I do look back at it, and maybe some others do as well, so I decided to just keep it.

Last year I read 20,998 pages!!! HOLY CRAP, my goal was only 13,000 pages. But when I was working at the law firm, I was able to read A LOT. So that definitely upped the ante!

My goal this year is going to be, once again, 13,000 pages. With the wedding and everything coming up in the next year, I highly doubt I will touch close to 13,000, but I have high hopes.
As always, I will be updating this post as the year goes on with the books I have read. I won't post re-reads, or magazines, or graphic novels.
I received a Kindle this year, and any book I read on it will be marked with a "K" next to the page number (ex. 222K). The page count will be taken off of the amazon page, where it lists Print Length.

If you have any suggestions for books for me to read, leave them here!

If you are dating someone who says they aren’t ready to commit, would you wait? How long?

As long as you feel like you need, but if they're not ready to commit to you, and you want a commitment, move on.
