|My MITM4E pictures - taken May 30th, 2009
||[Jun. 1st, 2009|04:46 pm]
These are my pictures from Meet in the Middle 4 Equality, May 30th, 2009 from Fresno City Hall.
They show many signs (none of which were made by me). If you appear here and do not want to, please let me know and I will take your picture down as soon as possible (there is no need to get nasty, I promise I will do it as soon as I am able to get your e-mail). There are a LOT of photos under the cut, so be prepared for the loading time (I took over 200 photos).
If you'd like to use them for a story or for your personal use, I ask that you please contact me first.
This day CHANGED MY LIFE. I have always been an avid supporter of the LGBT movement, and will forever be. I am your straight ally and you can always count on me for anything!
Oh yeah- You will not find David Lance Black or Cleve Jones under the cut- my friend had to leave so we left before they came out =(
First, let me say these are not in any real order. My camera tends to upload a little weird. But I hope you enjoy looking at these as much as I enjoyed taking them!
The Castro Flag came to fly in Fresno!!!
One of my favorite signs of the day
And for those that were there- See? I told you, out of order. And I'm too lazy to go reorder them.
I was unable to get any really great pictures of her because of the person with the sign. No offense if you're reading this.
The sign I took from the sign making tent- LOVE NOT H8
IF THE PEOPLE WITH THESE PARASOLS ARE READING THIS- Do you live anywhere near Ashlan/Cedar? If so, you are my neighbors! I was driving through my neighborhood and saw similar ones, and got so excited I almost stopped and went to the door just to see. I am not kidding, either.
This girl is beautiful <3
Married his partner of 43 years! What a beautiful thing!
This little girl brought down the HOUSE! I'm so glad her moms are married!
I believe this was the first transgendered Prom Queen (someone correct me if I'm wrong); I didn't get a picture of the Prom King. That part went by so quick.
LOVE this sign!
This girl gave a great speech!
This was probably my favorite sign of the day
She sung a beautiful song that I attempted to get on video, but people kept getting in my way. The hazards of being short. But I believe you can find it on youtube now, so please look it up if you can!
I obviously really liked their signs as well.
Just a note- A Good bulk of the following pictures are from the beginning of the day- you can tell by the sparseness of the crowd =)
A pretty good picture of the Castro Flag waving in what little wind we had that day =)
LoL- And a link to the wiki, in case you're wondering what the heck a Pastafarian is
This is a picture at the beginning of the day when they were hoisting the Castro flag. It was amazing to watch it go up.
Also one of my favorite signs!
One of the many tables of water set up throughout!
First Aid is VERY important =)
"What about the children??"
My friend Jeanette making her sign- "Jesus had 2 dads, Why can't I?"- I spared her being pictured on here, I didn't know if she would want to be or not hehe
And rounding out my top 3 favorite signs... THANK YOU AGAIN IF YOU'RE LOOKING AT THIS!
Fresno City Hall
Robin on the move!
Here is a better picture of the Meet in the Middle banner from earlier
Now, back to the speeches again hehe
The Raging Grannies!
One of the Queer Eye guys, whose name I don't remember right now and I really wish I did. But I never watched that show =(
Well, I hope you enjoyed the pics! And if you don't have a LiveJournal, please leave how I can reach you (twitter, facebook, myspace) if you'd like to chat more or whatever!
